Ford unveles new Fusion electric carThis year, Ford is unveiling a redesigned version of the Fusion hybrid, with all the usual tricks: an all-new engine and a larger battery pack.
The company says the updated car is a great fit for the city, which is where it’s supposed to drive.
Ford says it’s the first electric vehicle with a front-wheel-drive system, which will allow it to pull up to 10 percent more weight in the city than the previous generation.
The car’s powertrain also comes with all new technology that makes it more fuel efficient than a gas-powered Fusion.
Ford says the Fusion Hybrid is built with new technology, including advanced sensors that use radar and lasers to detect potential obstacles and pedestrians.
It also features a new all-terrain chassis that includes new safety features like adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning.
The company says its electric hybrid car has a range of up to 1,400 miles and can go up to 60 mph in the quarter mile.
The battery pack will be a new 25 kWh lithium-ion cell with an expected life of at least 10,000 miles.
The vehicle’s first prototype will arrive later this year.
Ford and Chevrolet are rolling out the updated Fusion Hybrid next year.
Ford will begin selling the new Fusion at the end of the month.
